There is so much out there to learn it comes sometimes be difficult to know where to start or even if it is better to learn one thing over another. Don't be tempted to base what you want to learn about on the latest social media trend, like Twitter.

While building, you sometimes start solving similar challenges over and over again (e.g fetching data as a simplified example). When recognizing that there are reoccuring patterns, for me it's worth digging into it and spending time with it.

This part is the most difficult for me. I'm very interested in Linux & back-end development, but then I see all these trends and projects people are making using front-end technologies like React.js and stuff, and I keep losing my confidence. But recently I've changed my mindset and decided to stick to the domain I love. I may not be relevant in a classroom full of people making websites, but it doesn't matter, as long as my skills are relevant to the industry's needs.

Great video Eddie.I would like to get a bit of advise from you.I have been in the test automation profile for last 8 years.Web development was always my interest ,but someway down the line I lost track .Recently,I picked up and started learning html and css.Would it be a wise choose to move to front end /full stack web dev after having these many years of exp in test automation? You insights on this will be very valuable

I think work to your strengths, if you were testing APIs then go backend, but if you were testing UI then go frontend - with html, css and javascript you can do frontend or backend or both (full stack)
